Volunteer and InternshipResearch

Spanish

The principal objective of the Spanish Program is to enrich the volunteer’s experience in the community and the researcher’s understanding of his or her study topic by giving them communications skills to more freely interact with coworkers, host family members, research subjects and new friends from the community.

Emphasis is placed on increasing vocabulary and on improving conversational skills, both understanding the speaker and clearly expressing one’s ideas.

Class size is small and material tailored to the specific needs of the student.

Teachers are local residents who can not only facilitate the student’s improved use of the Spanish language, but also his or her integration into the community.
