Volunteer and Internship

Our volunteer program is designed for motivated individuals desiring to support sustainable community development efforts. Our volunteer projects are designed to not only help volunteers learn from their experiences, but also to support and assist with community projects.

We work with numerous organizations and communities in the Caribbean in areas including organic agriculture, community based eco-tourism, environmental education, recreational activities for children, and health care.

The type of work you do depends on your interests skills, experiences, and desire to help. We work to find the project that best suits the needs of the volunteer and the community:

Partial site and project listing:

  • El Yue Women’s Association
  • Kekoldi Indigenous Reserve
  • ACAPRO- An association of small scale certified organic farmers
  • Local public elementary schools
  • Organic Farms
  • Reci-Caribe (Community recycling project)
  • AMUDA Women’s Association and Educational Organic Farm
  • Hone Creek Community Center
  • UCANEHU Organic farming association within the indigenous reserve
  • Santa Lucia Rest Home
  • Cahuita National Park
  • Local Health Clinics

We require a minimum 3 week commitment (4 full or half-days per week, depending on the project). Spanish is not required for all projects, however we recommend those volunteer s with little or no Spanish to combine the volunteer program with the Spanish Language Program.
